Shreveport Woman Arrested for Fighting and Resisting
Shreveport Police were dispatched to Fairview Street in reference to an assault and battery.
Officers had already been to this location due to noise complaints. When SPD got to the scene, they found a victim covered in blood, telling them a violent altercation had taken place.
Officers determined that a large gathering of around 30 people was taking place inside a home being operated as an Airbnb. Officers identified Sumaria Anderson as a person they believed was involved in the fight.
SPD Officers attempted to take Anderson into custody, and she resisted by kicking at Officers several times. Officers were able to gain control and place her under arrest.
Anderson has been charged with:
· Disturbing the Peace by Fighting
· Simple Battery
· Resisting an Officer
· Battery of a Police Officer
The owner of the Airbnb was contacted and was unaware of the activity happening inside the home.
From SPD:
"This incident highlights the dangers officers face when responding to large, uncontrolled gatherings. What starts as a disturbance can quickly escalate into violence—not only between individuals, but against responding officers.
The investigation remains ongoing."
