Shreveport Felon Arrested for Being in Possession of a Firearm
On February 13th, 2023, Shreveport Police Patrol Officers were proactively patrolling the Jewella Avenue corridor. The officer conducted a stop on a vehicle at Jewella Avenue and Oakcrest Street for traffic violations.
The officer discovered that the driver of the vehicle, Andrew McCall (7/10/93) was in possession of a .223 caliber rifle. Further investigation into the matter revealed that McCall was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for 2nd Degree Battery in 2018.
The firearm was seized by the officer and McCall was arrested for one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
