Shreveport Police officers contacted Jonathan Tucker, 21, while he was driving a stolen vehicle. An investigation revealed that Tucker was also in possession of a firearm. Officers determined that Tucker is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing any firearm. His prior convictions include aggravated cruelty to animals, motor vehicle theft, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, and sexual battery—all offenses that disqualify him from firearm ownership.

Officers contacted Robert Stegall, who was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and several weapons. Further investigation revealed that Stegall is also a convicted felon, previously convicted of drug possession. He has been charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

From SPD:

"The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to reducing violent crime through strict enforcement of firearm possession laws. Removing firearms from convicted felons continues to be one of the most effective strategies for keeping our community safe and preventing future offenses."
