Shreveport Police Arrest Two in Separate Gun and Drug Cases
Shreveport Police has been working hard to take guns out of the hands of those who have no business carrying them.
Over the weekend, SPD Officers arrested Kenyon Creighton during a traffic stop after he was found to have a gun and drugs. He is now facing charges including:
· Illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile
· Illegal carrying of a weapon with a controlled dangerous substance
· Distribution of narcotics
Broderick Collins was also arrested during a separate traffic stop after SPD found drugs and a gun in his possession. Further investigation confirmed Collins is a convicted felon, making it illegal for him to possess any firearm. He's charged with:
· Possession of Schedule II narcotics
· Illegal carrying of a weapon with a controlled dangerous substance
· Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
· Traffic-related offenses
From SPD:
"Let’s be clear: If you’re a felon, a juvenile, or anyone prohibited from carrying a gun—and you choose to do it anyway—we are coming for you.
The Shreveport Police Department will continue to aggressively target illegal firearms and the individuals carrying them.
You bring the gun, we bring the consequences."
