Shreveport firefighters responded to a fire at the Jolie Apartments on Quail Creek in the Shreve City neighborhood on Wednesday morning.

The blaze started just before 10:30am in one of the units near the back of the complex. More than 20 firefighters rushed to the scene to work to put out the fire.

Smoke could also be seen billowing from the property for several minutes. This is not the first time this abandoned property has been on fire. This is an ongoing problem. Less than a month ago there was a fire on the property.

Water Struggles Complicate Matters

Water woes in Shreveport have made firefighting a bit challenging this week. While the pressure is improving every day, it is still not up to 100%. KEEL News spotted a Bossier City firetruck pulling up to help fight this fire. Shreveport Fire Chief Clarence Reese Jr. tells us Shreveport is currently borrowing this tanker because of the water situation.

In previous fires at this complex, the cause has been linked to vagrants coming in an out of the buildings. We are waiting for details on what sparked this blaze.
