What Happened with Shreveport Amazon Job Postings?
SHREVEPORT, LA - Amazon has started the process of hiring for the Shreveport Fulfillment Center. But the Friday night online event drew more criticism than praise.

What Was the Problem?
The jobs were expected to be posted at 7pm on Friday night on the Amazon jobs online portal. But hundreds of folks logged on (myself included) to try to take a look at the job listings. No jobs were listed for within 100 miles of Shreveport.
I waited a few minutes and logged on again. Still no job listings. I managed to get to a chat bot which could not help me and I was connected to a "live agent". That agent asked me to hold on and started checking.
This is my online exchange with Yogeshwaran from Amazon:
Well, that information was not correct. I was sure the jobs would be posted. I reached out to the Amazon PR team via email to see what was going on.
This is the response I got just before 8pm on Friday night:
The first batch of jobs are slated to post after 7 PM this evening - this could fall into tomorrow morning. We expect that these jobs will fill fast, so if someone isn't able to secure one of the initial postings, they should sign up for text message alerts, as jobs will continue to become available in rolling intervals leading up to the facility's launch.
But I was still getting texts at 9pm saying there were no jobs listed. At some point during the evening, jobs were posted, but they were all snatched up as quickly as they loaded onto the site.
I Did Get This Update from Amazon on Saturday:
Our first batch of job postings for hourly positions at our Shreveport Fulfillment Center went Friday night and were filled quickly. This process will continue over the coming weeks until the facility launches – which is slated for later this summer. As soon as we have more information on when the next group of postings will go live, we will share that with you.
Here's the plan for the next round of hiring:
