
Shreveport Police Seek Attempted 2nd Degree Homicide Suspect
Shreveport Police are actively seeking Derek Taylor in connection with a shooting reported on October 16th. Shortly after noon, officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of West 70th Street following calls of gunfire.

Upon arrival, police located a female victim who was initially thought to have been shot, but it was determined she was struck by debris. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Evidence, including confirmation of gunfire from witnesses, was collected at the scene.
Warrant Issued for Attempted Homicide
Investigators determined the incident began as a verbal argument between the female victim and Taylor. The dispute quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, during which witnesses reported seeing Taylor fire a weapon, causing the woman to fall.
The Shreveport Police Department has since obtained an arrest warrant for Derek Taylor on one count of attempted second-degree homicide.

Suspect Considered Armed and Dangerous
Authorities caution that Taylor is considered armed and dangerous. The police department is urging anyone with information regarding Derek Taylor's current location to immediately contact the Shreveport Police Department at 318-673-7300.
