Shaq Is Coming to Shreveport for Mardi Gras as DJ Diesel

Its been brought up already, but this time period of the Mardi Gras season in Shreveport is getting really thick. Some call this homestretch of the season "Deep Gras", and that's really accurate for what Shreveport is looking at.

The Mardi Gras calendar for Shreveport this weekend is full of multiple Mardi Gras parades, multiple Mardi Gras Bals, a big float loading party, and even more madness. Just look at this schedule of Mardi Gras events:

Saturday night, Shaquille O'Neal, aka Shaq, aka DJ Diesel is coming to the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium. Why is the Basketball Hall of Fame member coming to Shreveport at peak Mardi Gras season? To perform a DJ set Saturday night of course.

Big Diesel will be throwing down at the Muni on Saturday night, which means you could pull off one of the craziest Mardi Gras weekends Shreveport as ever seen. Think about this...

Friday you hit Gemini's float loading, then drop in on Highland's Bal festivities. On Saturday morning you get up and go grab a spot for the Gemini parade, probably downtown. As soon as the parade is done, you grab some crawfish, then head to the Muni to see DJ Diesel. On Sunday, you chug a Gatorade in the morning, then hit the Highland parade.

Could someone actually pull this all off? Maybe. But even if you can't hit EVERYTHING happening this weekend, you can get in on something. You also can't say that "there's nothing happening in Shreveport" either.
