Nasty storms are moving into north Louisiana later today. In fact, it could be a rough night. The Weather Channel reports severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and tonight from parts of the Southern Plains and lower Mississippi Valley. This will include northwest Louisiana, parts of Oklahoma and north Texas. This storm will also impact Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama.
What Will This Storm Include
We will probably see some damaging wind gusts, hail could be as large as baseballs. We would also see a few tornadoes in the region.
This storm system is expected to impact Shreveport and Bossier City along with Dallas, Little Rock, Jackson, Memphis, Nashville and Birmingham through Tuesday night.
This storm system could bring locally heavy rain from one or more clusters of thunderstorms, despite a drought, may also lead to flash flooding.
When Will the Storms Arrive in Shreveport?
The strong storms are expected to arrive in the Shreveport Bossier area at about 1pm this afternoon when we will have an 82% chance of strong storms. It's a fast moving storm system and the roughest weather should move out of the metro area by 4pm. But another round of heavy storms is expected to arrive in the area after 8pm tonight.
