Second Victim Pulled from Burning Home in Cedar Grove Dies

The second victim pulled from a burning home in Cedar Grove has died.

81-year-old Orine Demery died just after 10:00 Thursday night.

She is the second person to die as a result of the fire. Her brother Foster Demery died as a result of his injuries.Their home on East 68th caught fire early Wednesday morning. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy flames coming from the front of the home. Firefighters pulled 76-year-old Foster Demery and his 81-year-old sister Orine Demery from the home. But both died from their injuries. Their niece, Ammie Demery escaped the blaze and tried to rescue the elderly couple, but could not. Inspectors believe the fire started at an extension cord.
