Red River Army Depot Announces Workload Layoffs

Beginning this month, Red River Army Depot will begin reducing up to 100 possible government term employees due to a declining workload and a potential for other systems at the depot that could be affected.

At least 35 government term employees and up to 65 contract personnel will be reduced this month, according to a press release. Those employees affected by the reduction can reach out to the Red River Transition Support Center on March 10. The center will assist in helping those government and contract members find other jobs or other occupations.

Red River Army Depot Commander Col. John W. Kredo wishes to thank all the employees for their hard work and dedication over the past 15 years who have made it possible for Red River to succeed through their determination and contributions to the depot.

A similar layoff in 2021 of around 200 employees was cited for some of the same reasons, according to arklatexhomepage.com.
