Princeton & Haughton Urged to Conserve Water
According to the U.S. Drought Portal (www.drought.gov) , the Princeton/Haughton area is experiencing severe to extreme drought. Several surrounding cities and rural areas have already issued water conservation requirements; some have gone as far as shutting off water to their customers.
The Village Water System, that provides water to the Princeton/Haughton area, has asked that water conservation measures be employed inside and outside home. They are advising customers to NOT water lawns/gardens nor fill/refill pools. If your lawns/gardens are in danger they ask that you minimize sprinkling time by 50%, and follow this schedule:
Odd addresses/homes should water lawns/gardens Mondays and Wednesdays.
Even addresses/homes (including those ending in zero) should water on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
They urge customers NOT TO WATER ON WEEKENDS!
