President Trump Extends Stay at Home Guidelines
President Donald Trump announced today that the United States will extend the country's voluntary temporary shutdown due to COVID-19 until the end of April. Last week, Trump said he hoped to have the country back up and running by Easter. However, today the President said that statement was only 'aspirational'.
The President says the extension is in hopes to keep the virus from spreading and to reduce the projected death toll. Medical experts told the President that more than 100,000 Americans could die from the coronavirus if not enough is done to stop the spread of the infectious disease.
The new end date for the shutdown is April 30th.
