Popular Shreveport Mexican Restaurant Closes for Good
Bad news for diners who go to a popular southeast Shreveport restaurant. The Posado's location on East Bert Kouns has closed its doors for good.
A sign was placed on the door to the business earlier this week. It indicates this is the end of the road for the local Mexican restaurant.
Posados has been known in the area for years for giving out free ice cream to all diners. They also have had specials on many weeknights. But reviews at the east Shreveport location have been mixed over the past couple of years.
It has been clear this location has been dealing with staffing issues and service. Many customers have complained about poor service and hundreds of reviews have been posted about the declining quality of the food.
Why Did the Restaurant Close?
Specific details have not yet been released, but KEEL News has learned the property has been sold to make way for another car dealership in the area which is commonly referred to as the "Automall". Holmes Honda owns the property next door to this location.
Sales tax records show the property is still owned by Posados Cafe Inc of Tyler, Texas. The property is valued at $1.7 million dollars. The Posados website no longer has the Bert Kouns location mention. They still operate locations on Mansfield Road in Shreveport and Old Minden Road in Bossier City.
