President Biden says that the worst days of the COVID pandemic are still ahead. The CDC, just days ago, announced new rules mandating masks for all public transportation and ride-sharing services. Dr. Fauci says that everyone would be safer if they wore two masks instead of one.

And yet, festival organizers cross the state - and especially the ArkLaTex - are making plans to hold their annual springtime festivals.

Of the area's major spring festivals, the CORK wine festival, Mudbug Madness, the Barksdale Air Show and even a modified State Fair of Louisiana are all on tap to take place in the next ninety to one hundred twenty days.

So, let's assume for a moment that all the deals get done, that all the Is are dotted and Ts are crossed, that licenses are approved and permits are given...but will people go?

That's the question of the day. Right now, knowing what you know about the state of the pandemic and taking into consideration the availability of the COVID vaccine, would you attend any or all of our area's annual fetes? Would you take your family? Will you go if you have to wear if mask mandates and social distancing rules are in place?

Let us know. Yes? No? Maaaaaybe?
