Police Search For Overnight Fatal Shooting Suspect
Shreveport Police investigators are searching for clues in a shooting which claimed the life of a Shreveport man early Tuesday morning.
Just before 1:00 a.m. on March 28, 2017, Shreveport Police was dispatched to a shooting which occurred outside an apartment building at the Wilkinson Terrace apartments located in the 2700 block of Southern Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they were met by Shreveport Fire Department medics who were frantically working to save the life of 24-year-old Charzavious Rogers, who was suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Despite life-saving efforts, Rogers died upon his arrival at University Health hospital.

Authorities were provided information suggesting that Rogers was standing outside one of the apartment complexes’ buildings when a volley of gunshots rang out. It was at that time, Rogers was found lying on the ground. Multiple spent shell casings were located in the immediate area where Rogers was located, suggesting the gunman was in close proximity to Rogers when the shooting occurred.
