Jake Wood, spokesman for the Planet Aqua Group, tells 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about PAG's planned takeover of downtown Shreveport's Sci Port Discovery Center, which has been struggling financially.

According to Wood, Sci Port will be closed from September 4 through December 31 for extensive renovation, at which point Planet Aqua will assume operational control, although the current Sci Port board will remain in place. The non-profit Sci Port, which opened in 1994, has been fighting  the fallout of a recent faudit which showed a cash shortage of nearly $350,000.

Wood also told KEEL listeners that Sci Port's IMAX theater will remain open during the remodeling.
