All Bossier City Workers Will Be Getting a Pay Raise
SHREVEPORT, LA - Christmas comes early for Bossier City government employees.
How Much Will Bossier Workers Be Getting?
The Bossier City Council has voted 6-0 to approve the budget for 2025 which includes a pay boost for all city employees. This pay raise will go into effect in January. It will provide an increase of at least $6,000 per year for all city workers.
The goal is to make sure all employees reaches "the minimum regional salary for their position.’
Mayor of Bossier Says He Promised this Raise
Mayor Tommy Chandler expressed his appreciation to the Bossier City Council for their approval of this pay increase. He says this "is a great day in Bossier City.” Chandler adds that he "has worked hard and am very pleased to have my budget approved that will include pay raises. This is important to me and it is one of the main promises that I campaigned on when I ran for Mayor. I said that I would work to secure a raise for City employees because they work hard every day for our Citizens and they definitely deserve it.”
The Mayor says this pay increase includes Civil Service Employees such as Fire and Police. Mayor Chandler says this raise will go a long way to make our fire and police competitive which is important in recruiting and retaining good officers. When the raises were approved, Mayor Chandler thanked the council and all Bossier City employees for their continued service to the citizens of Bossier City.
