Students and alumni at Centenary College have been wondering whether the terror attack in Paris will affect the May Module, a summer program where students spend time in France, or the Centenary in Paris trip in the fall.

College spokeswoman Kate Pedrotty -- speaking on behalf of Centenary President David Rowe, who's traveling -- told me as of now, things are still on as planned.

"We have always, and will always continue, to take every kind of precaution to keep our students safe when they're traveling, whether it's domesticly or abroad," Pedrotty said. "All of the facts show that the attack in Paris was a very target attack, and it is not something, at this point, would cause us to make any changes."

The campus is sending out condolences to the affected families in Paris. "Certainly, our first reaction to the events that took place in Paris, as I think for many people, was shock and sadness," Pedrotty said. "Our hearts and prayers are going out to the many alumni and friends that Centenary College has in France."

Pedrotty said the May Module is an elective course, not a requirement. Centenary in Paris for first-year students isn't a required program, either, but is highly encouraged because it's considered a community bonding experience for students.

"We will continue to try to have these experiences and these opportunities for our students as much as we can," Pedrotty said. "We have to just keep going on."
