Panola College President Named 2011 Educator of the Year

Panola College President Gregory Powell has been named Educator of the Year for 2011 by the Coordinating and Development Corporation. The Corporation serves the economic, community, workforce and business development needs of ten parishes in Northwest Louisiana, eight counties in Northeast Texas and four counties in Southwest Arkansas. Powell was presented the award at the Ark-La-Tex 2011 Annual Achievement Awards Ceremony and Luncheon held at the Natchitoches Events Center. Dr. Powell has served as Panola College's president since June 2000. In addition to the Educator of the Year award, Powell has also received the 2010 leadership award from the National Council for Learning Resources and was honored by Texas A&M-Commerce in 2007 as outstanding alumnus.
