The Bossier City Police Department and one of its officers have received honors for their efforts last year in enforcing Louisiana's drunk driving laws. In 2011, the department made the highest number of DWI arrests by a municipal police department that participated in a grant program by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission. And Corporal Jason Lowe was also honored as being the officer with the highest number of DWI arrests. The Caddo Sheriff's Office and Corporal Rick Porter have also been honored for the same. The LHSC presented the awards to them and other state and federal safety agencies and officials during a special recognition ceremony in Baton Rouge. All officers in the agencies that were honored made a combined total of 10,444 arrests last year.
