Open Burning Ban Remains in Effect in Caddo

Now that the statewide ban on open burning has been lifted...what's the verdict locally? In Caddo Parish, Fire District 1 Spokeswoman Debra Nelson says...the ban stays. She says we really haven't seen enough significant rainfall here for fire districts to be able to lift the ban. She says until the ban is lifted, you'll need to be mindful of the dry conditions. She says NEVER toss a cigarette butt onto the ground -- and make sure your lawn equipment is in good working order. A little spark could cause a huge fire.
