Forbes magazine recently released their new billionaires list, and there was some movement in the top slots. Most notably, Elon Musk, founder, CEO and chief engineer of SpaceX, CEO and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; owner and CEO of Twitter, Inc.; founder of the Boring Company; co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI; and president of the philanthropic Musk Foundation, dropped from the top spot down to #2 with a net worth of $180B. Even with his pretty impressive resume.
The richest person in the world, with a worth of $211B, sells purses and shoes. Bernard Arnault oversees the LVMH empire of 75 fashion and cosmetics brands, including Louis Vuitton and Sephora. Purses... and shoes.... what does that say about our world in 2023?

There is one Louisianian on the Forbes list. New Orleans Saints Owner Gail Benson comes in at #580 on the Forbes list. Benson the widow of Tom Benson (d. March 2018), former owner of the NFL New Orleans Saints and NBA New Orleans Pelicans. Benson's networth is at $4.7B, up from $3.8B in 2022, where she ranked #778.
