A local man is in jail and another is on the run after they allegedly robbed a west Shreveport convenience store early this morning. Just before 3:30, Shreveport police were called to a reported armed robbery at the Circle K in the 2100 block of West Bert Kouns. A witness told them a man armed with a handgun entered the business and demanded money from the clerk -- then left with an undisclosed amount of cash and two cartons of cigarettes. No one was hurt. Moments later, a patrol officer saw a car with two men inside speeding near the intersection of Wyngate and W. 70th. He tried to pull it over, but the driver refused to stop. The chase ended at Wallace and Harrison, where the driver bailed and took off on foot. The passenger -- 22-year-old Earlie Johnson -- was taken into custody and charged with one count of armed robbery. Investigators are trying to identify and locate the other man.
