Shreveport Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead, one fighting for his life, and two others injured.

On July 15, Shreveport Police were called to the 6700 block of Buncombe Road to Olde Salem Village Apartments on reports of shots fired. Police located a 36-year-old man and a 23-year-old man both suffering from life-threatening injuries. They also located an 11-year-old male juvenile that had been shot in the arm. All were transported to Ochsner LSU Health. Sometime later, a 19-year-old male was taken to the emergency by private vehicle and left. The person that took him to the hospital drove away. The 23-year-old man died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Investigators arrived to the scene and launched their investigations. Detectives learned through witness interviews that two juveniles engaged in a fight that spilled over into an argument between adults. Investigators believe that the 19-year-old man, the 23-year-old man, and another that has not yet been identified, went to the apartment of the 36-year-old man armed with guns and a gunfight ensued shortly afterward. Multiple shots were fired between the group of individuals and the 36-year old man. The 11-year-old was the son of the 36-year-old man and was part of the original dispute on the basketball court.

This matter remains under investigation at this time. Detectives believe that there are many witnesses to this incident and are encouraging them to reach out with any information they may have.
