Should NOLA Mayor Cantrell Resign? The Lt. Governor Thinks So
Louisiana's Lt. Governor is calling for New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell to resign now. Billy Nungesser says Cantrell has been a disappointment to the city of New Orleans and to the residents of that city.
Nungesser says:
If you thumb your nose at the law and at the people you represent long enough, it's gonna catch up with you. It's obvious that for the last several years she's cared more about herself than the city and the state she is supposed to represent.
Nungesser says he prays that New Orleans can get a new mayor that really cares about the city. Against all odds, he says we had a great Super Bowl and a great Mardi Gras. He says the Governor has put the State Police in the French Quarter and he says that has really given people hope. Nungesser says he hopes "we can get through her term and find someone that wants to work for the greater good of the people."
Nungesser Says Cantrell Should Resign Now
The Lt. Governor says it would be a good thing to do for the city if she would step aside, but he does not expect her to do the right thing and quit so someone else could take over leadership in the city.

Nungesser says for years she has been causing problems for the city of New Orleans. He says she's been flying all over the country and flying first class. He says she has also misused the apartment the city owns in Jackson Square. He says she has given out contracts to people for trash pickup that aren't even in the trash business. He says he would not be surprised if you see more things coming to light as the indictments go forward.
