Northwestern State University has signed a memorandum of understanding with Florida-based Reliability Solutions.

Under the agreement, NSU will provide a facility for RS to conduct training in exchange for the opportunity for students and faculty to audit that training.  RS focuses on delivering hands-on skills training tailored to the needs of manufacturing companies.  It plans to begin its first training session at NSU with Weyerhauser employees on August 11th.  Classrooms and amenities of NSU's Department of Engineering Technology will be used for the training.

NSU officials say the agreement matches real world industry needs with people willing to train for the jobs that are available.  They say it also creates awareness among students about lucrative in-state career opportunities.
