Northwestern State University has been yarn-bombed.  Anonymous guerilla knitters coated crape myrtle trees near the Nesom Natatorium with colorful crochet just in time for Mardi Gras break.  The fiber graffiti is an example of a trend among textile artists with a desire to personalize public spaces.

The movement has been said to be changing the face of craft as stitchers are viewed as artists rather than vandals and the impermanent installations tend to evoke feelings described as warm and fuzzy.
