After a two-month nationwide search, the North Louisiana Economic Partnership has a new president.  Volunteer Board Chairman Todd Perry tells KEEL News a lot of people from around the country were interested in and applied for the job.  The list was then narrowed to five finalists and they were all brought here for interviews.  In the end, he says 41-year-old Scott Martinez was the clear choice to lead the partnership.  Martinez is originally from Laurel, Mississippi.  He's been in economic development for the past 14 years and he's spent the past five of those years as Executive Director of the Hutto, Texas, Economic Development Corporation.  For those not familiar with it, Hutto is a thriving community just Northeast of Austin on US Hwy 79.  Martinez starts his new job here January 2nd.
