There are some new events to enhance Mardi Gras offerings in Shreveport-Bossier this year.

The Krewe of Centaur has added an inflatable event to its parade route. That'll be set up in the alcohol-free family area at Stoner Avenue and Clyde Fant Parkway and will feature 20 bounce houses of all shapes and sizes for kids of all ages. It also includes a concessions area and covered seating for parents. The cost is $20 per participant, with unlimited hours of bouncing fun. That'll be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on parade day, which is this coming Saturday, February 2.

Marylynn's Place on Fern Avenue has a block party scheduled to take place after the Krewe of Highland Parade Sunday, February 10th. The 2nd Annual Mardi Gras Bash kicks off at 4:30 that afternoon, featuring live music, clowns and face-painting for the kids. And don't forget about the traditional Cajun cuisine -- beignets, jambalaya, red beans and rice, crawfish and more. Admission is free, but guests are encouraged to bring money for food and drink. You can reserve a VIP table, too. Call the restaurant for more information on that.

And don't forget about Parti-Gras -- a complete Krewe of Gemini Parade day-party package.
