National Night Out Parade in Downtown Shreveport
Shreveport Police Department invites all members of the community to come out and enjoy the 2022 National Night Out Parade, Thursday September 15th at 6PM. The parade will travel from the 400 block to the 600 block of Texas Street in downtown Shreveport. SPD and city officials want to give crime and drugs a going away party.
National Night Out is a national campaign started in 1984 designed to promote getting to know your neighbors, getting to know the police officers who patrol your area, and hopefully, to help combat crime and suspicious behavior. National Night Out this year is scheduled for Tuesday October 4th.
The Shreveport Police Department is partnering with the Shreveport Fire Department, the City of Shreveport, Community Renewal International, and Crime Stoppers for the 2022 Shreveport National Night Out activities. Neighbors are encouraged to get to know each other and their local law enforcement officials under positive circumstances and build stronger community relationships, sending a clear message that neighbors are organizing and fighting back against crime.
The National Night Out Parade will give citizens of Shreveport the chance to gather, fellowship, and learn more about National Night Out. The SPD is hoping to reach their goal of 300 registered block parties, so if you've never scheduled, or even attended a National Night Out Block Party, you should make plans to attend the parade this Thursday, or visit the Shreveport Police website for more information.
