Law enforcement officers from several different agencies will be teaming up and working together tomorrow night to help keep the streets of Shreveport safe.

A safety checkpoint will be held Friday night, May 20, 2011 in southwest Shreveport as an integral component of an ongoing, singular commitment on the part of authorities to reduce the number of deaths and injuries reported on our roadways.

The checkpoint will be a collaborative effort between the Louisiana State Police, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office and the Shreveport Police Department.  Officers will be checking for impaired drivers as well as any other violations that could potentially compromise the safety of motorists.

Please join us in our efforts to prevent traffic fatalities in 2011 and always remember to utilize a designated driver if you are going to be drinking.
