More Traffic Headaches Coming to I-220 at I-20 in Bossier City
It's obvious that the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development intentionally has stored the "Road Closed Signs" in the median at I-220 and I-20 in Bossier for a reason. They plan to use them. And that time has come again.

Construction of the new I-20/I-220/Barksdale Air Force Base Interchange Access Project has been going on long enough now that you should just about have your detour process committed to memory.
You just need to know when the area will be closed again to traffic so that you can implement your alternative plan. Guess what? Be prepared to make those detours again this coming weekend.
The La DOTD is advising motorists that this Friday, January 14, from 7:00 pm through Monday, January 17 at 5:00 am, the I-220 eastbound inside lane from US 80 to I-20 will be closed. The US 80 on-ramp to I-220 eastbound will also be closed during this same time period.
Additionally, this Saturday, January 15 from 7:00 pm to Monday, January 17 at 6:00 am the I-20 westbound outside lane will be closed.
The DOTD is also reminding us that intermittent lane closures and/or rolling road blocks will occur as necessary on both I-20 and I-220 eastbound and westbound as construction continues on the project. These will take place for approximately the next three (3) months.
Of course, as with this entire project, all work will be done weather permitting, so detours/closures could change if weather becomes a factor.
