More LSU Football Players Announce They’re Leaving
The LSU Tigers just won the College Football National Championship at the end of an undefeated 15-0 season. It was magic. But not the level of magic it would take to repeat that feat.
LSU knew they were going to lose senior quarterback Joe Burrow, who broke nearly every passing record in his way, and won the Heisman Trophy this year. They knew they were going to lose star cornerback Kristian Fulton, who's also a senior. They knew the offensive line would lose Adrian Magee and Damien Lewis, and they knew the defense would be without Rashard Lawrence and Michael Divinity...all seniors.
But the blows to the LSU football future are coming in two forms. First, the band news.
Any player who came into contact with former LSU Tiger Odell Beckham, Jr after the game will have their eligibility scrutinized by the school, SEC, and NCAA. If they were seen by anyone taking money from him (which he's on film doing, and Joe Burrow has confirmed it was real money) will probably be listed as ineligible right away.
The more excited exodus from the LSU program comes in the form of the NFL Draft. Multiple players have now declared for the draft, leaving LSU early. They include:
Wide Receiver Justin Jefferson
Linebacker Jacob Phillips
Center Lloyd Cushenberry III
Tackle Saahdiq Charles
