Willie Harris has been convicted of aggravated flight from an officer. However, there is just one problem, he's still on the run. A Caddo District Court convicted Harris Tuesday without him being present for the trial.

The judge ruled that since Harris absconded voluntarily the trial could continue even though he wasn't there.

Harris was convicted for his part in a high speed chase earlier this year. On February 24th, Harris was menacing employees of a bar with his car. When police arrived, Harris led the officers on a chase with speed in excess of 100 miles per hour. Eventually, Harris crashed his car and was caught after a brief flight on foot.

Since Harris is a multiple time felony offender, if he's ever recaptured by the law, he faces 20 years to life in prison.

Harris was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Sam Crichton and Ron Christopher Stamps. He was defended by Stan Lockard.
