A Bossier City man has been arrested for assaulting his wife and setting a fire that caused a lot of damage. Police were called to 40-year-old Nolan Lando's home in the 1100 block of Gilbert Drive just after 11:30 last night to a report that he physically assaulted his wife. But he'd already taken off before they got there. Just after 1 this morning, police received a 911 hangup call from the same home, so they went back. That's when they found the garage behind the home fully engulfed in flames. They found Lando in the backyard attempting to light his clothes on fire after dousing himself with lighter fluid. He was taken into custody as firefighters arrived. The fire quickly spread to a neighbor's garage -- containing a car and a pickup truck -- in the 100 block of Gary Court. The fire was put out in about 15 minutes, but both garages and both vehicles were destroyed. Lando was booked with aggravated arson and domestic abuse battery...and on a Shreveport warrant.
