According to the Bossier Sheriff's Office, 47-year-old Donald Wayne Coutee stood on his front porch early this morning and shot a possum with a .40-caliber handgun. Where the problem lies here is that Coutee's cabin is one of many at Camp Joy Marina -- and the cabins are separated by only a few feet. Several cabins were located behind the possum when Coutee fired at it...and had he missed the animal, the bullet could have struck a cabin and/or a person. Coutee admitted to shooting the possum, which he said he believed had rabies, but said he was unaware it was illegal to discharge a firearm that close to other residences. He was arrested for illegal use of a weapon.
