LSU Shreveport faculty member Emre Celebi, Ph.D. has been awarded a $155,895 National Science Foundation (NSF) grant for his proposal "RUI: Novel Enhancements to the K-Means Clustering Algorithm".

The project aims to develop novel approaches that address various shortcomings of k-means, the most widely used data clustering algorithm.

Dr. Celebi is an associate professor of computer science at LSUS. He joined the faculty in 2007.
