Former LSU basketball coach Dale Brown, whose standard of excellence leading the Tigers program remains unmatched, will be the featured speaker at this year's Heart of Hope annual banquet, Thursday, February 9 at Shreveport's Convention Center. Doors will open at 6pm and the evening's dinner and program will begin about 6:30.

Brown compiled a record of 448-301 in twenty five years in Baton Rouge. He was named SEC Coach of the Year four times, winning four regular season conference championships and one SEC tournament crown. He led LSU to 13 NCAA tournament appearances and twice his teams made the Final Four, losing both times in the semi-final contest.

Heart of Hope is a sanctuary for women, located just outside Shreveport in Keithville. It is describes as "a home away from home for young ladies between 11 – 23 years of age who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. The mission is to provide a safe haven where residents can center all their efforts on the decisions that are before them; being a single-parent or choosing adoption."
