Louisiana Zip Codes That Have Donated The Most to Donald Trump

While Elon Musk donated $291 million to Donald Trump's 2024 Presidential campaign, the residents of Louisiana didn't come close to that number. We don't mean Louisiana isn't home to someone that challenged Elon's donations...the whole state combined didn't even reach that number.

Did Elon Musk Donate More To Trump Than All of Louisiana Combined?

During the 2024 Presidential campaign, all of the individual campaign contributions to Donald Trump coming from Louisiana didn't reach Elon's number, combined. Everyone who contributed to Trump in Louisiana combined for roughly $57 million during the 2024 Presidential campaign window. Nearly $250 million less than Elon Musk contributed.

But Elon Musk wasn't the only major donor that outpaced all of Louisiana. Timothy Melton contributed over $150 million, and Miriam Adelson donated over $140 million.

For a frame of reference, the highest contributors to the Democratic presidential campaign were Michael Bloomberg with $64 million, and Dustin Moskovitz with $51 million. On the rankings of the Top 10 donors of the 2024 Presidential cycle, Bloomberg ranked #8 overall, and #1 Democrat, and Moskovitz was #9 overall, and #2 Democrat. The top 7 donors were all to Donald Trump, and 8 of the Top 10 were to Trump.

While Louisiana wasn't able to contribute as much as Musk or Adelson, there were still plenty of people who wanted to donate to Trump's campaign. But maybe not as many as you might think. At least, directly to the Trump campaign.

How Many People In Louisiana Donated To Donald Trump?

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) isn't able to see all of the contributions made to Super PACs, which is where the term "dark money" comes from. Someone can pump money into a PAC, and we wouldn't be able to tank them. So we're looking at just public donations.

So these numbers could be higher if people from these Louisiana zip codes are donating to PACs. But just looking at the FEC number, there aren't as many people in Louisiana as you might think who made direct donations to the Donald Trump campaign. We've piled together the Top 25 zip codes in the state based on donations, and here's some of the highlights:

-One of the Top 10 zip codes has a Median Household Income of less than $40,000/year
-The zip code on the list with the highest population has 46,900 people
-The zip code with the smallest population is just 3,361 people
-The most total donations a single zip code made was $6,116
