The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs delivered the first shutout in Independence Bowl history, as they blanked the Miami Hurricanes 14-0.

That shutout wasn't the only I Bowl 'first' in yesterday's game, the two teams set a new I Bowl record for punts in a game with 18. With each team punting 9 times.

Tech ended up reaching the 10 win mark for the first time since they joined the FBS in 1985 with the win over Miami, while the Hurricanes dropped to 6-7 on the year, their first losing season since 2014.
