Louisiana Is Too Fat But It’s Because Of These Amazing Foods
While reading an article in beckershospitalreview.com I discovered that our beloved Louisiana is the eighth most obese and overweight state in the whole country, I surmised that was actually a little far fetched.
The metrics ranged from share of overweight and obese population to obesity-related healthcare costs to share of adults eating less than one serving of fruits/vegetables daily.
Eighth? Are they serious? There's no way there are seven states that like food more than we do. How are we not number one on this one? I'm not saying that we don't have a great number of gym rats in the Bayou State that help balance our grading curve, but with the food we have here, I'm just amazed that we aren't some of the biggest people on the planet.
Look at our choices! There's everything from oyster po-boys to bananas foster, shrimp and grits and dirty rice (rice dressing as the Cajuns call it). We are home to some of the finest cuisine anywhere on God's green Earth. And if it doesn't taste exactly like you want, you just haven't put enough Tony's on it!
Just ask anyone who has ever visited Louisiana. The first thing they'll tell you, after they mention how beautiful our women are, is that the food here is incredible!
Just take a look and see if you agree that these are the Foods That Made Louisiana Cuisine Famous!
