Louisiana Gun Rights Group ‘Defend Louisiana’ Has First Meetings

The program 'Defend Louisiana' is an initiative to defend gun rights in the state of Louisiana.

Around 750 more signatures were added to the petition according to the founder of the program, state Rep. Jeff Thompson, a Bossier City Republican. At this time, the petition has a total of 4,000 signatures and will be presented at a press conference on April 8.

According to NOLA.com, Thompson said, "We were very pleased with the turnout and overwhelming support shown and very much look forward to visiting other towns and cities across Louisiana in the coming weeks and months".

This is the Defend Louisiana motto:

"I pledge to defend the right for law abiding citizens to protect their families, and will work against attempts to restrict my right to keep and bear arms by standing up for the Second Amendment and letting my voice be heard."
