SHREVEPORT, LA - If you are a fan of the LSU Lady Tigers basketball team, you might have watched a major blunder by the announcer during the most recent game against Mississippi State. I still can't believe what she said.

I'm talking about Christy Thomaskutty who was calling the game with Eric Frede on the SEC Network. The game is almost over and she starts talking about the Lady Tigers Trinity of players: Flau’jae, Neesah, and Mikaylah. She compared them to “the trinity in southern cooking of carrots, onions and celery”. When I heard her say "carrots", I had to rewind the game and make sure I heard what she said. Yep, she said carrots. A little time goes by and she tries to correct herself, but it took a minute.

You can see how this all went down. Go to about the 24:40 mark on this video and see her ignorance about Louisiana cooking.

SEC Announcer Is Getting Blasted on Social Media for Louisiana Cooking Mistake

She's getting plastered on social media. One critic Stephen Dubret says "Someone needs to tell that announcer lady the difference between Trinity and Mirepoix."

Mirepoix is used in French cooking and does include onion, carrots and celery.

But to mistake that for Louisiana cooking is inexcusable. And Christy Thomaskutty is a Tulane grad. But she originally hails from Alabama, so that's why she stepped in it so badly.
