Louisiana Confirms First West Nile Death of 2013
State health officials have confirmed Louisiana's first West Nile virus death of the year. It happened in Rapides Parish.
There were also ten more non-fatal cases confirmed this week, bringing this year's total number of cases to 31. Six of the new cases were neuroinvasive disease -- four of them in Ouachita Parish and one each in Lafayette and St. Tammany Parishes.
