There is no harm in dreaming and believe me, I have been in a trance about this whopper of a Mega Millions prize. But I had a really interesting conversation with a group of friends the other night about what we would do if one of us was the winner.

Picture this: 6 women sitting at a local Mexican restaurant having dinner. We all agree that each of us will get a new home with the winnings. And then the big question came. Where will your home base be?

Only 2 of the 6 ladies at the table said they would still be based here in Shreveport Bossier. And the reason they would still have a home base here was related to children or grandchildren living here. I get that. I would probably have a home-base near each of my boys. One of my friends said she would be based somewhere near the beach. Another said they would have a home base in New York City.

What would your friends do? Would most of them keep a home base here? I would probably have a home here. But I'm pretty sure I would be living near the beach or near my children.

How Big Is the Mega Millions Now

The Mega Millions jackpot continues to grow. The prize now tops $600 million dollars and my dreams keep growing. $266 million dollar one-time lump sum payout (before taxes). This makes it one of the largest lottery jackpots of all time. But it's still not on the top 20 list.
