Shreveport has made major improvements to our city pools and they will be up and going all summer. Bossier is getting the Mike Wood pool ready for the summer. But if you are looking for a more thrilling time in the water, you might want to check out some of the great water parks in the region.
The park we knew as Water Town in west Shreveport is now permanently closed and it won't be open this year. it morphed into Splash Kingdom and then changed hands again and was called Wonder Oasis Water Park. But the owners could not make the numbers work to keep the park open. This means parents might be looking for other great water parks for a fun summer water outing as we move into the hot summer months.

But if you are a fan of great big water parks, you might want to check out some of the others that are within just a few hours drive of Shreveport-Bossier. Of course the Dallas Metro has several great water parks. But they are usually very crowded and packed with people.
