Local VA Hospital Gets New Director

For the past two years, Shirley Marie Bealer has been the Associate Director of the VA North Texas Health Care System. Now she's been tapped to become the next Director of Shreveport's Overton Brooks VA Medical Center. No word, yet, on when she'll take over here but she comes highly recommended by other VA officials. Bealer has been involved with the VA, in one capacity or another, since January of 1979 -- when she started out as a staff nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Dallas VA Medical Center.
