Local Teen Arrested For Beating A Man Unconscious
A man was beaten unconscious early Monday morning, but it didn't take police long to make an arrest.
Around 2:45 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2012, patrolmen were called to LSU Health in regards to an assult victim who presented himself to the Emergency Room.
The victim tells police that suspect, 19-year old Patrick Mason III, of Forrest St., in Shreveport, attacked him. The victim says he must have gone uncounicious, because he doesn't remember anything after Mason threw the first punch. The victim has two abrasions to the face, and possibly a broken nose. The arresting officer, K. Ash, put in the report, "the victim has swelling to both sides of his face."
Mason, a 2011 Byrd High School graduate, admitted to the attack and made arrangements to turn himself in to police a little over an hour after the altercation. Mason was taken into custody and booked into the city jail. He has since been transferred to Caddo Correctional Center, and his bond is set at $10,287.50.
Mason is charged with second-degree battery, which is a felony.
As with any person arrested, Mason is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
