Local Leaders in DC Pushing Several Projects
Members of the local Chambers of Commerce are in Washington DC to meet with our local congressional delegation about several projects critical to Northwest Louisiana.
Bossier Chamber President Lisa Johnson talked with us about the list of priorities.
Barksdale is one of the key items on the list of discussion items. The group will also talk about highway funding, economic development and other critical needs for Shreveport and Bossier.
The Chamber leaders have several stops over the next two days while they are in the nation's capitol. The visit will include meetings with representatives from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and they will also be visiting the Pentagon. They will also stop in on Congressman Mike Johnson during the trip.
Johnson says she hopes to also talk about economic development and the integration of CSRA in our community. The I-49 innercity connector is also expected to be a hot topic. The Bossier Chamber has endorsed extension of the interstate through Shreveport rather than loop it around the city. She tells us what's good for Shreveport is also good for Bossier.
